Blogger launch
You should all know about a little event we are putting together down here for next May - the 2013 2XU Hervey Bay Triathlon & Multisports Festival.
4 Days - 5 events! Undie Run, Criterion, GoKids Tri, Ind & Teams Olympic Dist Tri, Recovery Swim. Plus air-conditioned expo all weekend - what a way to end the season!
Our events are well suited for both the first time triathlete and the more experienced athltete looking for a fast race. For the families, the GoKids race is the afternoon before so that they can all the attention they deserve and there is a free water park adjacent the main event venue.
The swim that so many often find daunting is held in the safe and protected waters of Hervey Bay.
Then comes the cycle – two laps of a picturesque seaside circuit with full road closures in place and only one U-turn.
Lastly comes the run and once again ours can be as gentle or as fast as you like it – an out and back course on the beachside bikeway with no hills to speak of, shade most of the way and ample waterstations.
The 2013 Hervey Bay Triathlon is now amongst the top 10 “richest“ OD triathlons in the country with a total prize pool of over $35,000 and first place prize packages of over $3,500 (male and female). Once again there will be a race ready dream bike as the ultimate random draw prize.
Our field last year grew by over 34% and with a number of other events disappearing from the April/May calendar this season and we expect to fill our 600 individual / 150 teams spots early.
Competitors in the tri events (individuals, teams and GoKids) will once again receive custom printed commemorative 2XU "techncal running" t-shirts.
All the details and other updates can of course be found at: www.HerveyBayTri.com.au
Online entries are now being accepted for the main event and support events will open progressively from October 1
Keep up the training and we look forward to seeing you on May 5th 2013.
As per the flyer distributed at the Morton Bay Tri the next 150 entries received will have the opportunity to receive a bonus 2XU item in their race packs (it's a surprise) - just enter the code CAPS on the promotional code box when entering online. See our news page for details
Yes there is still the early entry draw for the JestSki Safari to Fraser Island comming up.
So pass the word along (or just forward this msg) and good luck!
